Prasoon

About me: I am a Post-doc researcher at Purdue University. I have been involved with Asha since 2004. The destruction brought by Tsunami in Dec 2004 made me feel that I need to do something at the time of disaster but didn't know how to exactly go about it. I was with my friends in California at that time and saw them doing their bit to raise funds for Tsunami victims. Even though their number was less, their enthusiasm was unfazed. Coming back I got actively involved with Asha activities in University of Florida. I moved to Purdue in 2012 and I want to continue what I love doing, working for the kids and in return learning from them the experiences of life.I firmly believe that education is the only tool by which we can defeat all the problems in society and we need to act together to realize dream of providing quality education to all.

My running experienceI could never believe that I will be ever running even few miles. But here I am planning to run another running event at Purdue! I ran for the first time on 4th of July for 3 mile water melon run in Florida and was able to complete it. After that small success, I got trained for 9 mile run in Jacksonville along with Team Asha UFlorida and now here I am planning to participate in Asha Purdue's 5K event.

My Request: I have committed to raising at least $200 and I will be truly happy if I could raise more. Every single dollar of your donation will be used to support three projects, Manasa a school for mentally challenged children located in Hyderabad, India, SAIS Basundhara a home and school for the orphaned, abandoned children, located in Cuttack, India and Diksha for education of underpriveleged children located in Patna, Bihar. Support me for this noble cause. Of course, your contribution is tax-deductible. Thanks in advance for your support.
