I am a PhD student at Purdue University and have been involved with Asha Purdue for a couple of years now. Ever since I moved out of India, the feeling of being away from home had constantly haunted me and there was no better way to feel connected to my homeland than being a part of an organization that fills the void by transforming the lives of those in need with the help of education. 

 

I firmly believe that quality education is everyone’s right and the best way for us, as a society, to progress forward. Here, at Asha Purdue, I am doing my bit to ensure that my efforts translate into the betterment of someone’s life somewhere back in India and it has been a source of immense pleasure and contentment. I hope you do the same with your generous donations and help us reach our collective target of $2500 for our 5k run this year. Every single penny that you donate is going to go to our supported NGOs - Manasa (a school for mentally challenged children in Hyderabad), SAIS Basundhara (a boarding school for orphaned or abandoned children in Cuttack) and Diksha (a school for education of underprivileged children in Patna). And, in return, you will receive hundreds of smiles from those little kids and a sincere thank you from the bottom of my heart. ;)
